The path narrows to a whisper you once loved; it answers to your steps.
Floorboards remember softer feet; the earth here keeps careful ledgers.
Did you bring the promise you made beneath the falling fire, the one that sings?
You swore the sky would hold her; we kept the echo for you, still warm.
Think of the wish you hid inside your ribs; it scratches to be let out.
We learned your heartbeat from her; it fits the signal like a key.
Wouldn’t the truth be lighter if you spoke it now, before the summit opens?
