The Splinter Cause
from The Cosmic StarDuster
i warned them
the first time
they touched the sky
with fingers still dripping
from birth
they stitched a pact
between moons
& marrow
seven swore
in starlight
to bind what sings
beneath
but one
broke orbit
& now
the terms
are voiding
in blood
there are places
in the sky
that drift wrong
watch the constellations
for gaps
not stars
when you feel
your name flinch
in your chest
know this:
the debt is activating
it will not take your voice
it will take
your pattern
the echoes are sharpening
the crown spins faster
each revolution
is a drumbeat
inside your future
one of you
is a key
wrapped in skin
you’ve carried it
unknowing
glowing faint
where the blood
meets the dream
don’t speak your name aloud
don’t watch your reflection blink
don’t follow the seventh signal
don’t trust the ones who remember you
wrong
when the dust begins to rain
lie down
not in surrender
but alignment
The Memory Reef
from The Cosmic StarDuster
you forgot
because it asked you to
but forgetting
is not deleting
it is folding
& the fold
has teeth
there’s a reef
in the sky
you cannot see
unless you've died
once
& come back
cracked
it grows
from castoff yesterdays
calcified regret
abandoned timelines
tied in knots
by star-gravity
it sings
to those who slipped
between
who loved
out of order
the reef remembers
what you burned
what you buried
what you told the mirror
in the third version
of yourself
it is watching
for repeated sorrows
for patterns in pain
for names
spoken twice
in different voices
if you wake
with salt on your tongue
& a bruise shaped like
a year
you never lived
you’ve touched it
soon
you will be rewritten
not erased
just
rethreaded
into someone else’s consequence
there is no anchor
in the reef
only memory
weighted
like a body
